Saini Electrical and Engineering Works has recently commissioned an integrated manufacturing hub at Nagpur. The state-of-the-art manufacturing hub is strategically located in Central India and provides significant logistical advantages thus enabling efficient delivery of products and solutions to rail vehicle manufacturers and customers throughout India.
The manufacturing hub consists of multiple manufacturing units within a campus spread across 25 acres. Unit 1 is dedicated for assembly of wheel sets, complete assembled bogies for EMU/Trainsets (powered and non-powered), motorised bogies for locomotives etc. Unit 2 specializes in the manufacture of bogie frames and bolsters. Whereas the third unit focuses on manufacturing of Traction Motors and Traction Alternators. Thus, this facility is a one of its kind integrated facility for complete assembled, motorised bogies. Availability of Complete Assembled Bogies enables vehicle manufacturers to streamline their operations and improve throughput of Rolling Stock.
SAINI’s Nagpur facility utilises advanced technologies to achieve world class quality standards and efficient production. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art Automation, CNC machinery, Robotic welding etc. to ensure high-grade products and solutions. Furthermore, the use of lean management, ERP, and IoT solutions facilitates seamless integration, production efficiency, and stringent quality control. The facility is certified for EN 15085 CL2 certification for welding as well as Quality, Environmental, and Safety Certifications.
Each unit within the facility is led by a Plant Head with domain expertise and are in turn led by a seasoned Operations Head with 35 years of experience in manufacturing Railway Equipment. Together, they employ lean management principles to manage a world class production system utilising world class machinery operated by a competent workforce of technicians and engineers.
Additional units are planned within the integrated facility for manufacturing propulsion equipment and HVAC units for Vande Bharat Train Sets. The company envisions these facilities to serve not only Vande Bharat Trains but also other rail vehicles such as locomotives, semi-high-speed trains, high-speed trains, sub-urban trains, metros, and tramways.
